2024 Business Survey

TAKE THE 2024 BUSINESS SURVEY

The Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce is conducting a Business Trends and Outlook survey in collaboration with Salve Regina University to gather information directly from business owners to assess business conditions in our region. 


As a business owner in Newport or Bristol County, we encourage you to complete this brief survey. Individual responses will be kept confidential. It should take no longer than 10 minutes. 


Data collected from the survey will be analyzed by students in Salve’s Business Research Methods course and shared as a public report at the end of the year. Read our FAQs for more information.

​Our goal is to conduct this survey annually to track and adapt to changes in the business environment.

Who is conducting the survey?
 

The Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce is conducting an online Business Trends and Outlook survey in collaboration with Salve Regina University to gather information directly from business owners to assess business conditions in the Greater Newport region.


What is the Greater Newport region?

 

The Greater Newport region includes Newport and Bristol Counties.


Who can take the survey?

 

The survey is open to business owners who are actively operating a business in Bristol or Newport County. If the owner cannot complete the survey, they can assign it to their designated representative who can answer questions about the business operations and outlook.


How long does the survey take?


The survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete.


What is the purpose of the survey?


Your feedback assists the Chamber and its partners in developing business support systems and in advocating for legislative change on behalf of the business community.


What are you doing with the information you collect?


Data collected from the survey will be analyzed by the students in Salve’s Business Research Methods course and shared as a public report at the end of the year.  We will be comparing the information we collect to regional and national business trends.


Will my response be anonymous?


Yes, Individual responses will be kept confidential. The collected information will be aggregated, and no personal identifiers will be disclosed.


If I would like to have a follow-up conversation with someone at the Chamber, how do I request that?


There is a question at the end of the survey that asks if you would like to have a follow-up conversation. This is optional.


If you chose to have a follow-up conversation, we will ask you to provided your contact information and the Chamber’s Business Outreach Specialist will contact you directly.
